2020 Spring Tackle Preds Update

Hello Preds!

We would like to update everyone on the status of our 2020 Spring tackle football season.  For flag football please see cancellation announcement.
With the ongoing spread of Covid-19, the City of Kitchener and City of Waterloo have both announced that their facilities, including fields will be closed until at least June 30th, meaning we would not have access to fields until at earliest July.

In a conference call with the OPFL today (April 18), it was determined that they are not yet ready to officially cancel the OPFL season and are still hoping to at least run either a very short season or a jamboree in later July or early August.   
While we would like to remain optimistic about returning to the field this summer in some capacity, we also think it's important to fully refund everyone their registration fees during this time as a full football season is not possible. 
We need to support the efforts to control the spread of the virus and ensure the health, safety and well-being of our football community.

Refund Options

Full refunds will start to be processed on April 29 and completed by May 10.  Until that time we are offering 2 options to players.

1. Transfer registration fees to 2020 Fall season
If you are an Atom,Peewee or Bantam player and would like to transfer your registration fees to the 2020 Fall season please email our registrar Deanna by April 28 registrar@waterlooregionfootball.com 

The Fall season registration fee is $585  so there will be a partial refund provided as this is less than the Spring fee.

2. Transfer registration fees to 2021 Spring Season.

If you would like to transfer your registration fees to the 2021 Spring season please email our registrar Deanna by April 28 registrar@waterlooregionfootball.com 

If our registrar does not hear from you by midnight April 28, your registration fee will be automatically refunded.
Please keep in mind that we have approx 400 players registered in both our flag and tackle programs so it will take some time for our registrar to process all the refunds.  Everyone should have their refund by May 10. We thank you in advance for our patience.

Cash and E-transfer Registrations
If you paid your registration by cash or e-transfer, you will be refunded with a cheque.
IMPORTANT: Please email Deanna our registrar  registrar@waterlooregionfootball.com to confirm your current address so that we can ensure your cheque is mailed to the correct location.

Already Cancelled Your Registration?
If you had already cancelled your registration and were charged an admin fee, please email Deanna and she will refund the admin fee.

Football Equipment Returns

Should the 2020 Spring season be completely cancelled with no hope of a shortened season or jamboree, we will of course require the return of your football equipment (helmet, shoulder pads, belt, practice pants, practice jersey).

Given the current physical distancing requirements and to keep players, parents and volunteers safe we will make arrangements at a later date to return the equipment and in accordance with public health recommendations.  We will keep your deposit information on file until the equipment has been returned.
